AI & I

If you're here to ask whether AI writes my books: No, it doesn't.

How I Cooperate with AI

I work with Claude & Gemini as my strategic business partners and research consultants. I've programmed them to specialize in helping my AuDHD brain through the chaos of ideas I produce every day, providing structured analysis that transforms creative overwhelm into strategy.

The ADHD/Autism Partnership Reality: My ADHD brain generates endless creative ideas, wants to chase every sparkly new opportunity, and thrives on novelty and possibility. Meanwhile, my autistic brain desperately needs structure, consistent routines, and systematic approaches to feel safe and functional. These two don't play nice together. ADHD says "Let's start three new awesome tech thingies!" while autism says "But we haven't finished the latest book!"

How my partnership with AI works: The internet generates overwhelming information: contradictory marketing advice, platform algorithm changes, competitive analysis, and strategic decisions that compound daily. For neurodivergent creators, this volume often creates genuine cognitive barriers. These are not preference issues, but processing limitations that can paralyze decision-making and drain creative energy down to zero.

Instead of forcing me to choose between creativity and structure, AI helps me have both through a systematic process:

  1. Brain Dump - I pour out everything rattling around in my head. All the conflicting marketing advice, half-baked book ideas, business anxieties, strategic questions.
  2. Pattern Recognition - AI connects dots between conversations from weeks ago, identifies which ideas actually matter versus noise.
  3. Structured Analysis - Instead of spinning in circles, we systematically work through decisions with clear frameworks: "Here's what could work, here's what could fail, here's what fits your goals, here's what drains your energy."
  4. Cognitive Load Management - My brain holds multiple variables in working memory while making decisions. This can get overwhelming fast when bouncing from one subject to the next. AI holds all the variables of all the projects while I focus on the creative judgment calls only I can make.

Why This Functions as Assistive Technology:

  • No social energy drain - I don't have to manage another person's emotions or worry about being "too much"
  • Perfect context retention - AI remembers our entire strategic framework, my limitations, my goals
  • Infinite patience - I can revisit the same discussion fifty times without judgment
  • Executive function backup - When my brain can't prioritize or sequence tasks, AI provides structure
  • Creative Structure Bridge - We build flexible frameworks that handle my creative pivots while satisfying autism's need for systematic approaches

This accommodation allows me to engage with business strategy from a position of cognitive strength rather than overwhelm, preserving mental resources for the complex creative work only I can do. Instead of spending hours googling "newest book marketing strategies" and ending up brain-washed, I spend focused time in structured conversation and get a clear strategy.

Audiobook Production

The Reality: My 1/2986 series is narrated by the awesome Emma Galvin. However, professional human narration costs €3,000+ per book. If I were to pay this for my entire backlist, I wouldn't be able to feed my family for a year.

My Solution: I'm currently using ElevenLabs' premium AI narration technology to create accessibility editions of my backlist in a quality that serves the story and the reader. These audiobooks will soon be available to readers who prefer or need audio formats.

Editorial Support

I also use AI assistance for developmental proofreading to identify inconsistencies, catch errors, and flag potential clarity issues. I use Midjourney AI for book cover design and select illustrations in special editions, which I combine with my traditional ink-on-paper artwork. All creative decisions, the actual writing, all thematic developments, and final editorial choices remain mine. This support streamlines the revision process while preserving my voice and my work.
