I work with Claude & Gemini as my strategic business partners and research consultants. I've programmed them to specialize in helping my AuDHD brain through the chaos of ideas I produce every day, providing structured analysis that transforms creative overwhelm into strategy.
The ADHD/Autism Partnership Reality: My ADHD brain generates endless creative ideas, wants to chase every sparkly new opportunity, and thrives on novelty and possibility. Meanwhile, my autistic brain desperately needs structure, consistent routines, and systematic approaches to feel safe and functional. These two don't play nice together. ADHD says "Let's start three new awesome tech thingies!" while autism says "But we haven't finished the latest book!"
How my partnership with AI works: The internet generates overwhelming information: contradictory marketing advice, platform algorithm changes, competitive analysis, and strategic decisions that compound daily. For neurodivergent creators, this volume often creates genuine cognitive barriers. These are not preference issues, but processing limitations that can paralyze decision-making and drain creative energy down to zero.
Instead of forcing me to choose between creativity and structure, AI helps me have both through a systematic process:
Why This Functions as Assistive Technology:
This accommodation allows me to engage with business strategy from a position of cognitive strength rather than overwhelm, preserving mental resources for the complex creative work only I can do. Instead of spending hours googling "newest book marketing strategies" and ending up brain-washed, I spend focused time in structured conversation and get a clear strategy.
The Reality: My 1/2986 series is narrated by the awesome Emma Galvin. However, professional human narration costs €3,000+ per book. If I were to pay this for my entire backlist, I wouldn't be able to feed my family for a year.
My Solution: I'm currently using ElevenLabs' premium AI narration technology to create accessibility editions of my backlist in a quality that serves the story and the reader. These audiobooks will soon be available to readers who prefer or need audio formats.
I also use AI assistance for developmental proofreading to identify inconsistencies, catch errors, and flag potential clarity issues. I use Midjourney AI for book cover design and select illustrations in special editions, which I combine with my traditional ink-on-paper artwork. All creative decisions, the actual writing, all thematic developments, and final editorial choices remain mine. This support streamlines the revision process while preserving my voice and my work.
